#2 Response to the Kidd, Hickey and Weschler articles

For Kidd’s article, I learnt that important things often come in a certain way. For example, something comes from left is usually more important than the one from right. It is important to understand the relationship between left and right, top and bottom, big and small, in front of and in back of.
However, sometimes it doesn’t work. For example, in a view of snow, you probably notice the red ball against the white world at first sight, but not the things closest to you, which does not follow the in front of and in back of rule.

For Hickey’s article, I learnt much about basketball, especially the history of the rules changing. The players should be free to play and take the advantage of their talent, not restricted by the rules.
It is true in the sports. However, it cannot be used in any field in our life. We need rules to keep everything in order and everyone safe. The traffic lights can be a good example of why we need rules. Otherwise, people maybe die.

For Weschler article, I learnt much about how animators work and that the things look like the easiest could be the hardest ones. It can be seen anywhere in our life. For example, water, which is soft, can erode the rock, which seems very firm.
In the article, many advanced technique is discussed to make the animation reliable. However, wherever they achieve, they cannot substitute the real facial expression, because that is where the charm of human being lies.

#1 Introduction

My name is Yupeng Yang. I was born in Tianjin, China and I lived there until I graduated from high school. When graduated, I was thinking about what I was interested in. The result comes out that there is nothing but eating, maybe cooking as well. So, I choose my major Food Science. After 3 years of study, I came to OSU for advanced technology. The processing classes are really excited. I just made canned tomato salsa in lab this Monday. My hobby is pretty much my major, food processing labs in school and cooking at home. My dream is to make a product which could be sold all over the world. It is really enjoyable to see the smiles when people eating my dishes. Also, I often hang out with my friends to try out some new dishes. Here are the top five list of my favorite Japanese cuisine:
1. Egg Rolls
2. BBQ Eel
3. Salmon Sushi
4. Shrimp Tempura
5. Soba Noodles
